There have however been acts committed

Published by admin under Uncategorized

There have however been acts committed by vile men in our culture who called themselves good. They showed no consciousness toward God and sowed seeds of death and fear throughout the world instead. Further, the educational system and scholars have covered over the historical significance of the true Christians with myth and mysticism. We must (as Christians and Godly persons) hold fast to our own faith in and determine to remain relationship with our Father. Our relationship must grow past the superficial relevance of man to God. Our relationship is not pure until we can look toward God as our Father.

Unfortunately, many times the relationship between God and the church is very much like the one between a husband and an ex-wife. The churches may talk of God (and certainly give a good basis of book learning of the Bible) but it is primarily distant non-loving religious rhetoric. That however does not lead one to a loving relationship with their father any more than an ex-wife telling a child about a father could give the child the loving relationship you get by being in personal contact with the father. How can a bride who has closed her mind to her husband open the minds of her children to their father? She can not.

An experienced interviewer will pick up on

Published by admin under Uncategorized

An experienced interviewer will pick up on this almost immediately. Interviewing can be stressful, and if you suddenly suffer from mental block and forget a portion of your answer, this will totally throw you off balance.

Here are some examples of common interview questions that are asked during interviews:

- Tell me about yourself. This is a standard question that is always asked during job interviews. The great thing about this question is that it allows the applicants to reveal their personality and share information that they think would help them land the job.

- Why should our company hire you for this job? This is another standard question that job interviewers asked. Usually, applicants take this as their cue to sell themselves by dazzling the interviewer with a run down of the list of their achievements, talents, skills. Don’t overdue it; arrogance is not an appealing trait.

- Where do you see yourself ten years from now? This question is aimed at determining the level of commitment by the applicants toward their occupation.

Neuropathic pain, or chronic pain, is

Published by admin under Uncategorized

Neuropathic pain, or chronic pain, is not a symptom of another disease, but is itself the disease. Usually if there is pain in any part of the body, nerves from there send signals to the brain about that pain. But when the nerves are damaged, they cause pain all the time.

The delivery of pain will be along a particular peripheral nerve or groups of peripheral nerves. Neuropathic pain can be distinguished from common pain by a neurologist, who is expert in knowing the difference.

Common characteristics of neuropathic pain are severe pain, profound burning sensation, weakness, lack of sensation, and itchy sensation. In general, such pain develops in a glove format, meaning that it starts in the fingers and progresses to the palms, then the arms, and so on. Sharp pains are caused not only by normal injuries, but also to minor ones that people without neuropathy would hardly notice. In chronic pain patients, the affected part of the body is often hypersensitive, so that if they were pricked with a pin on the affected area, they would experience intolerable pain.

Neuropathic pain may be caused by shingles, diabetes, or limb amputation.

Owner hopes star vintage car will be a smashing hit

0 Comments | South Wales Evening Post, May 13, 2010

A GARAGE owner from Neath with a passion for racing cars is now set to burn rubber behind the wheel of a 48-year-old screen star.

Mike English, who owns a vehicle repairs garage in Neath, snapped up a vintage Rover P4 after spotting the vehicle on eBay and learnt of its famous pedigree.

“It has been used as a prop in shows such as Heartbeat and Bergerac,” said Mr English, of Melin, Neath.

The car was built in 1962 and has a 2.25 petrol engine and four doors.

“It was the family car of its day, and the sixties equivalent of the Ford Mondeo,” he said.

Despite the car’s celebrity credentials, Mr English said he picked it up for a reasonable price, and is about to put it to the test at a banger race contest in Oxfordshire on Sunday.

“It was coming to the end of its useable life for television, so I picked it up for a snip,” he said.

Contest However, Mr English said the vehicle required some tender loving care before being ready to begin its new career as a racing car.

“It was in a right old state and I had to patch it up, but now it is race ready,” said the 39-year-old.

He revealed that he would travel to Oxfordshire with his best friend and family, including 14-year-old son Liam, who raced in the junior classes.

Mr English said he also planned to fly the flag for his region at the event by sporting a Swan on the roof.

“It shows I am a visiting driver rather than a local one,” he told the Post.

Mr English said it was doubtful the car would look as good after the contest as it currently did.

“If I have had a good day I go for a destruction derby, which is the last race of the day,” he said.

Mr English said the derby offered the chance to win a trophy, as well as a cash prize.

“Because it is an old-style car and very well built I stand a good chance,” he said.

However, the event could spell the end for the car’s small screen looks.

“There will not be much left of it,” said Mr English.

Global shortage of cement slows Georgia’s building frenzy.

Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News, July, 2004

By Leon Stafford, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News

Jul. 8–Georgia’s red-hot residential building boom, stoked for the past three years by low mortgage rates, could find trouble at its very foundation: cement.

A worldwide shortage of the powder used to make such concrete items as slabs, driveways and swimming pools is slowing the frenzied pace for some home builders and contractors, industry leaders say.

Orders for concrete, usually available in two to three days, are now taking as many as eight to 10 days — a crucial delay for an industry that already yields to weather and contractor schedules

Family hope to save museum’s treasures

0 Comments | Sentinel, The; Stoke-on-Trent (UK), Jul 27, 2010 | by DAVID JOHNSON

MEMBERS of the Wedgwood family have launched a campaign to protect the Wedgwood Museum’s collection from being broken up and sold off.

Support for the attraction has come from the UK and across the world.

The museum is under threat after being saddled with a Pounds 134 million pension fund deficit claim from the Wedgwood Group Pension Plan.

It was thought the company scheme would be taken over by the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) following the collapse of Wedgwood and sister firm Royal Doulton last year.

But the PPF could not legally accept the scheme as there was still a surviving solvent organisation with fund members connected to it – the Wedgwood Museum in Barlaston.

Lawyers for the museum argue its treasures cannot be sold off because they are protected by “permanent endowment” status, but it will be months before a judge makes the final decision.

Tom Wedgwood, pictured below, a direct descendant of company founder Josiah, said: “The upcoming court case is a potential tragedy for all of us in North Staffordshire.

“We have had enough bad news, with closures and job losses in the pottery industry.

“I don’t understand how such a ludicrous case has arisen and I urge common sense to prevail.

“Why would anyone donate money or family possessions to trusts if the Government can introduce new legislation that means they are sold off ? “Now we are in a ludicrous position when we might have to try to raise funds to buy back and re-donate all the pieces which were originally donated by Wedgwood ancestors and cousins and previous generations of factory managers.” The family has launched a website and Facebook profile SaveWedgwoodMuseum to spearhead the campaign.

Dr Alan Wedgwood, head of the Wedgwood family, said: “When members of the Wedgwood family donated parts of their personal collections to the museum trust over the course of the last two centuries, this was done as an act of social philanthropy, in the belief the collection would be preserved for all future generations.

“New government legislation should not be introduced which can cause the subsequent break up and sale of this historic collection.”

The campaign team says auction house Christie’s has valued the collection at Pounds 20 million, meaning the PPF would still have to find the bulk of the Pounds 134 million shortfall.

And supporters believe it is unfair to hold the museum to account because five out of 7,000 Wedgwood Group pension fund members work for it.

Tom Wedgwood said: “I want to stress to all Wedgwood pensioners that even if the collection was sold, it would not mean extra money for them.

“It would just mean the PPF has to pay less into the compensation scheme when it eventually steps in.”

A “permanent endowment” covers any asset which trustees cannot spend because of a restriction in the charity’s governing documents.

Birthday girl Ingrid goes on mission to aid flood victims

0 Comments | Western Daily Press, Jul 27, 2010 | by ALAN WILLIAMS

A Somerset woman has celebrated her 24th birthday in style by heading to Brazil to deliver emergency humanitarian aid.

Ingrid Criddle, from Windmill Hill near Taunton, turned 24 on Saturday, and on the same day she flew to Recife in Brazil to work with international disaster relief charity ShelterBox.

This will be Ingrid’s first deployment with ShelterBox since she completed her ShelterBox Response Team training in June this year.

More than 600 ShelterBoxes have already been sent to Brazil after horrific flooding left close to 100,000 people homeless in the regions of Pernambuco and Alagoas. Another 460 boxes are set to be sent in the coming weeks.

Each green ShelterBox contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, cooking utensils, a stove, blankets, water purification and storage equipment, a tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items.

They are delivered to families in most need immediately after disaster strikes, anywhere in the world.

Before flying to South America, Ingrid said: “I’m really excited to be putting all the skills I learnt throughout the training period into practice.

“Ever since I found out about ShelterBox I’ve been blown away by the simplicity of what they do.

“When I discovered there was an opportunity to become part of the team that work on the ground physically delivering the boxes, I jumped at it and now can’t wait to carry on the great work the other teams have been doing in Brazil.”

Earlier this year, Ingrid cycled nearly 2,000 miles from Somerset to Istanbul, Turkey, and raised Pounds 2,000 for Shelter-Box.

She completed the epic ride wild camping along the route and passing through France, Germany, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and finally Turkey.

Ingrid travelled to Brazil with three fellow SRT members who will be taking over from the current team on the ground.
